The World’s Leaders in Language Education

ALTO is the only premium forum joining leading educational travel agents, language schools, academic course providers, universities, national and international associations and service providers as one global community.

Membership is open to the leaders of organisations and businesses involved in language or educational travel.

ALTO’s Mission

We aim to provide a global platform for leaders and decision makers within the language and educational travel industry to further develop and grow the industry through networking, professional development, idea and information exchange.

ALTO’s Origins

ALTO was formed at the World Youth & Student Travel Conference (WYSTC) in Miami in 1998, and has grown into an association with a large global membership base. Over the years, ALTO has fallen under the umbrella of several prestigious organisations such as the International Student Travel Confederation (ISTC), the Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations (FIYTO), and the World Youth Student & Educational (WYSE) Travel Confederation.

As of 1 January 2011, ALTO started a new era as an independent professional association, and continues to thrive with a growing membership base who provide international travel and educational experiences all around the world.
